The Auction for Pro Kabaddi Season XI ended and some of the stars and renowned players sadly found no buyers. We look at 5 big names who were part of PKL 10 but have remained unsold in this year’s auction.
Vishal Bhardwaj
· One of the best left corners of recent times, Vishal Bhardwaj’s going unsold was a surprise, especially considering he recently represented India at the Asian Games and the Asian Championship. The 27-year-old has scored 324 tackle points in Pro Kabaddi, 4th highest by a left corner in PKL history. The Himachal native was known for his aggressive defending and fearless game play. Vishal was part of PKL for 7 consecutive seasons from PKL 4 to PKL 10 and played a key role in helping Delhi reach the play-offs in PKL 10.
Ran Singh
· One of only 2 players along with Rahul Chaudhari to feature in every season since the league’s inception, Ran Singh found no takers. The All-Rounder featured in 14 matches for the Bengaluru Bulls scoring 25 tackle points. The strongly built left corner has scored 299 tackle points overall, placing him in the 12th position in the all time PKL tackle points leaderboard. Ran Singh’s famous back holds will be missed in the upcoming Pro Kabaddi Season 11.
Girish Ernak
· The commanding left corner was part of the PKL since Pro Kabaddi Season 2, Girish was known for his powerful dashes and blocks. The Maharashtra native was part of the U Mumba squad in Season X, however Girish failed to impress managing just 5 tackle points in 3 matches. Overall, Girish has pedigree in Pro Kabaddi scoring 362 tackle points and is among the top 5 defenders in Pro Kabaddi history, highlighting his class and consistency. Sadly, the 32-year-old won’t be seen in Pro Kabaddi Season 11.
Sandeep Dhull
· The left corner was one of the better defenders of a poor campaign for the Titans. The 28-year-old scored 37 tackle points in 16 matches which was the most by a Titans defender. The Railway defender has been part of PKL since the 3rd season and has scored 328 tackle points, 9th most by a defender in PKL history. Unless the ankle holds and the dive specialist gets a call for an injury replacement, we might have seen the last of Sandeep Dhull.
Rahul Chaudhari
· One of only 2 players along with Ran Singh to feature in every season since the league’s inception, Rahul Chaudhari was probably the most high-profile player to remain unsold in Pro Kabaddi Season League XI auction. The original poster boy of Pro Kabaddi has scored 1045 raid points, which is the 4th most by a player in Pro Kabbadi history. 2-time raider of the season and a PKL champion has also announced his retirement from Pro Kabaddi and retires as one of the all-time greats.
