SWOT analysis Delhi Capitals
Strengths
Bowling Attack:
The Capitals have in their ranks Rabada and Nortje who played a big part in their run to the finals, add to it the guile and experience of Ashwin and Amit Mishra plus the presence of miserly Axar Patel, the Capitals have one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2021.
Explosive Batsmen:
The Delhi Capitals have the likes of Dhawan, Pant, Stonis, Hetmyer and the inform Shaw which makes their batting unit one of the most explosive in IPL 2021. All of them have the capability to punish the opposition attack when they get going.
Weakness
Lack of a quality 3rd seamer
In IPL 2020 Delhi Capitals struggled with their 3rd seamer having used more bowlers for the role than any team. The addition of wayward Umesh Yadav does not look like it will ease the burden on Rabada and Nortje.
Opportunities
Umesh Yadav:
Umesh Yadav during his last 2 seasons with RCB was particularly poor consistently erring with his line and length. Delhi Capitals offers him a chance to reinvigorate his flogging T20 career.
Threats
Rishabh Pant was told to play a little more responsibly by the management in IPL 2020, which saw him struggle in IPL 2020. There is a fear that the additional responsibility of captaincy might see Pant curbing his aggressive instincts.
