SWOT analysis Royal Challengers Bangalore
Strengths
Explosive batting:
The envious combination of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers will have some added help this season with the addition of Glenn Maxwell. Adding the likes of experienced Daniel Christian and young Paddikal who enjoyed a superb IPL 2020 you have one of the most explosive batting orders in the competition.
Chahal:
RCB is synonymous with Kohli and AB de Villiers however Chahal despite not having the star power of Kohli or AB de Villiers has almost made the same impact for RCB picking up wickets in all the situations and providing breakthroughs when needed.
Weakness
Middle order Inconsistency
Though they have 2 of the most explosive middle order batsman consistency has never been known for their consistency. Glen Maxwell is yet to show the consistency he has shown for Australia. Barring AB de Villiers there is no player in the RCB middle order who has proven his mettle in the middle order in the IPL.
Fast Bowling:
RCB let go of Morris who had a superb IPL 2020 and replaced him with Kylie Jamieson who is untested in T20s and is also playing in India and IPL for the first time. Other than that, RCB have Siraj and Saini who are also inexperienced and have struggled in the death overs.
Opportunities
Maxwell to show his class finally
Maxwell has struggled to translate his international form into IPL. To accommodate him at no 4, Kohli has stated he will open. Will this be the season where he will stand up and prove his destructive quality in IPL?
Threats
Overdependence on Kohli and AB
Though RCB have bought in several players over the players their fortune depends on the form of Kohli and AB. If the duo endures a poor season RCB will once again struggle.
